Step 2 – Look to the left of the page under Navigation. Select Digital Textbooks.
Step 3 – Select McGraw Hill Social Science. After you are in the system, follow the instructions below:
- Launch the textbook.
- Select the textbook. Do not select any other icons on the page. Example: Interactive student edition, Inquiry Journal
- The textbook is the exact copy of the hard copy textbook in class.
- On the top left corner, select the table of contents to help you search for the chapters you need.
- Scroll down until you find the chapter you need. Chapter 1 will be used as an example for this tutorial.
- After selecting chapter 1, scroll down the first lesson (Lesson 1).
- Select lesson 1 (The first civilization). The page can be enlarged by double clicking the page or selecting the (+, larger) or (-, smaller).
- Read the lesson one section and look for “check for understanding” questions. The first set of questions are located on page 7. There are three questions. Example of the question #1:
- What was the first ancient civilization to emerge?
- The next set of three “check for understanding questions” is on pages 8 and 9. After completing the questions from pages 7, 8, and 9, you are done with the Lesson 1. Do not do the Lesson Review Questions in the end of each lesson.
- Each chapter has 4 to 5 lessons. There are some with only 3 lessons but not many.
- After completing chapter 1, lesson 1, go to chapter 1, lesson 2. Chapter 1 has 5 lessons so work on all five lessons.
- After completing all five lessons in chapter 1, send the work to the instructor. You can write the answers on Google docs and email the work to the instructor. The instructor will review the chapter 1 questions to determine if all the work is complete. If the instructor determines the work is done correctly, the instructor will provide the information for the online test for chapter 1.
